What is the Franchise Fit Report and How to Set Up the Report?
Overview
The Franchise Fit Report is an AI-powered, personalized analysis designed to help prospective franchisees determine how well a specific franchise opportunity aligns with their background, goals, lifestyle, and local market conditions.
It acts as a pre-FDD evaluation tool, giving candidates and brands a clearer understanding of fit before entering deeper stages of the franchise sales process.
Below are step-by-step instructions for setting up your Fit Report.
Step 1: Navigate to Brand Reports > Fit Report in your Navigation Menu
If you have not already created a Cover Image, you will need to upload an Image. You will see this alert:
Below is a screenshot of your Brand Theme section. Navigate to Fit Report Cover and Generate Cover Image.
If you have not added your Brand Logos, do that under your Brand Logo section first
Step 2: Create your report by selecting Add Fit Report
To ensure the most robust and comprehensive report, please provide as much information as possible. While required fields are clearly marked, we strongly encourage completing the optional fields as well to support a more detailed and accurate analysis.
You will be prompted to complete a series of fields. Including the following:
- Name
- Address
- City, State, Zip Code
- LinkedIn URL
You can click Save Draft in the bottom right corner at any time and return later to complete your report.
After completing each section, click Next
Step 3: Complete various questions about your Candidate, including:
- Why is the candidate interested in the franchise and this industry, and what makes the candidate a strong fit for the company?
- What relevant experience does the candidate have, such as business ownership, franchising, management, or other leadership roles?
- What is the candidate's current financial situation, and how does the candidate plan to finance the franchise?
- How much time can the candidate commit, and does the candidate plan to run the franchise full-time or as a semi-absentee owner?
- Can the candidate leave current employment if needed, and is the candidate's partner or spouse supportive or involved in the business?
- How would the candidate describe themselves as a business owner, what are the candidate's long-term aspirations, and what are the candidate's expectations around profitability, including the first year?
Below is a screenshot of what will appear, and you will be prompted to select Next Questions once you complete the current set of questions.
Step 4: Paste in meeting notes and transcriptions to ensure we capture real-life examples from the candidate and incorporate those insights into their report.
Step 5: Tell us more about the candidate.
This section is your opportunity to add context that may not be captured in structured fields or transcripts. The more detail you provide, the more personalized and accurate the report will be.
Examples could include:
- Background & Experience
- Financial Position & Goals
- Lifestyle Preferences
- Territory & Location Preferences
- Motivations & Decision Drives
- Concerns or Objections & how the brand will overcome these objections
- Personality & Buying Behavior (Analytical decision maker, previously explored a discovery day with a competitor)
Best Practice Tip
Focus on insights that help answer: βIs this the right candidate for this brand and why?β
This added context allows the report to:
- Deliver more accurate fit recommendations
- Provide stronger personalization
- Support more meaningful sales conversations
Step 6: You will be prompted with the report preferences. You can choose to generate a shorter report, remove sections, and include next steps for this candidate.
Once you add these final details, you will click Submit
Your report will populate in the Fit Report section of your dashboard. If you save a draft, it will also be available in this section for you to revisit and complete later.
